Completed October 11, 2024, this slim hunter represents a lot of subsurface engineering, over and above what went into the mobile tongue and the super-bendy skeleton. (The needle felting process forces wool deep into the figure, and with a cross-section this small, inevitably out the other side picking up bits of whatever the needle encounters along the way. That means the usual core-and-skin system won’t work: the red and gold and black all have to go all the way to the bone, despite the changes in girth from head to tail.)
He’s on hold until October 20, but if no one snaps him up at the Gathering of the Goths (at the Hornet Museum in Alameda, California on the 19th) he could be yours right away. Write to the Salamander to discuss details of the adoption.
