Completed January 28, 2011 – 6" long by 2" high. The armature is 8" long and the nose and tail extend a bit beyond it, but the peculiarly serpentine nature of the ferret skeleton made it lose more than 25% in length as the creature took shape.

This is a portrait piece in memory of Bianca, whose guard hair was unusually dark for a sable ferret, over a spectacular cream-white undercoat. Write to the Salamander if you’ve got a ferret of your own to capture in felt.
