The core of the figure – 24-gauge galvanized steel wire, braided and twisted and wrapped in the first layer of wool. Figures usually lack personality at this stage, but this guy demanded a record. (The legs really are longer here than in the final figure; it took hip and shoulder surgery after the full core was in place to crimp them into proportion.)
