Creature 261: Bernese Mountain Dog
Long fur has been one of the most tedious parts of creature creation, but the technique invented for this project takes much of the curse off of it, at least for this sort of moderate coat. Under a dense wet-felted Merino outer layer (put on like a coat), this beast got a loose layer of alpaca (black) or longwool (white) that was pulled through with a super-fine embroidery hook. Way easier than setting the fur in little bunches and it will also work for double-coated creatures with a dense undercoat of one color and guard hairs of another.
